Are Toxins Affecting Your Health?

Toxins and environmental pollutants are everywhere. We come into contact with them on a daily basis whether we know it or not and whether we are trying to avoid them or not. They are like air, in fact, they are in the air. Minimizing our exposure to them is important. Consuming the right high nutritious foods daily, practicing effective detoxifying habits and strategies and performing cleanses are very beneficial to our health and wellness. Our DETOX 360 program is a complete and highly effective super detoxification program and is surprisingly easy to implement. Knowing some of the more commonly encountered toxins and where they come from can also help in your strategic plan to be a healthier you.

Mycotoxins, marine biotoxins, and cyanogenic glycosidesare consumed daily in American homes. Foods like corn, grain based foods, cereals, cheese and unfortunately, coffee beans, can contain high levels of these toxins including aflatoxin and ochratoxin. Long-term consumption and exposure has been linked to issues with the immune system, normal development, and cancer. Antibiotics also have a high risk of mycotoxin contamination. If you must take antibiotics, perform a detoxification cleanse after completion of the medication.

Persistent Bio-accumulative Toxins (PBTs)are compounds that accumulate in the environment and through contact and ingestion, eventually the cells and tissues of the human body. Dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are byproducts of industrial processes. They are found worldwide in the environment and accumulate in animal food chains. Dioxins are highly toxic and can cause reproductive and developmental problems, damage the immune system, act as endocrine disruptors by interfering with hormone function/production, and cause cancer. Dioxins last a long time in the body as they are highly absorbed and stored in fat cells. The vast majority of dioxin exposure is through foods like fatty meats, dairy products, farm raised fish and shellfish.

Heavy metalshave been implicated in many serious health problems including neurological and kidney disease. Mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium are the most common culprits. Heavy metal contamination in our food supply happens through the pollution of air, water and soil. Heavy metal levels in your body can be tested, but for some people even minor amounts can be detrimental to health.

Detoxification on a daily basis can be accomplished through eating and raw juicing especially those foods from the following list. Simple use of these powerful foods helps your body bind and eliminate heavy metals and other harmful chemicals and toxins:

·      Grapefruit

·      Pineapple

·      Broccoli

·      Lemon

·      Green Leafy Vegetables: Kale, Spinach, Chard, Parsley, Cilantro

·      Green Tea

·      Fermented vegetables

·      Fresh Kombucha

All of these can assist your body to detoxify heavy metals from within your cells; helping to reduce your risk of buildup.  A few other very effective strategies including dry brushing of the skin, Epsom salt baths, massage and regular high intensity exercise. If you have never participated in a thorough detoxification protocol, consider it.
