Neuro-physiology pertains to the nervous system and its’ function.  The nervous system controls the functions of the body.  JUICEBOSS HQ training programs work to train the nervous system to function at a high level through stress and pressure from start to finish.  This involves creating “Motor Engrams.”  Motor engrams are specific pathways that the nervous system uses to minimize the work of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves thereby decreasing fatigue and improving stamina.  As your body performs a certain movement or activity over and over, your body automatically creates one of these pathways, or engrams. It is kind of like brushing your teeth.  You don’t even have to think about it anymore because you have done it so many times. Flexibility and Mobility Training

Developing and sustaining functional flexibility and mobility is vital to optimum performance, health and wellness no matter your activity level. JUICEBOSS HQ training programs help you efficiently and effectively develop the functional flexibility and mobility you need to build a stronger, faster, more powerful and durable body.

What are Flexibility and Mobility?
Flexibility is the total range of motion of a joint and related structures.  Flexibility does not translate to proper movement.  Mobility is the movement through the functional range of motion for a joint within a given movement pattern.

Why are Flexibility and Mobility Training Important?
Flexibility and mobility training is a vital part of your workout program.  The JUICEBOSS HQ program is comprehensive and covers all the bases.  Whole body training requires the appropriate level of flexibility and mobility to avoid injury and ensure proper recovery.  Proper flexibility and mobility are necessary to properly perform necessary exercises and to perform your sport at the highest levels. Balance and Core Strengthening

Balance and core training is important to optimize performance, health, wellness and function. Most often, the core is not properly trained and sustained and leads to weak performance and a plethora of injuries, aches and pains. The "core", which include the muscles that surround your trunk, help support your entire body, especially the spine, and help to provide balance. Without stable trunk muscles, you're more likely to suffer aches, pains and injuries.

It doesn't matter how strong your arms and legs are if the core muscles they're attached to aren't equally as strong. A strong core is also involved in your sense of balance. Balance not only requires equilibrium, but also good stability of the core muscles and the joints, particularly the hip, knee, and ankle. There are several ways to address balance and stability training. We will expertly evaluate your specific needs and the best way to achieve optimal results as rapidly as possible. We will develop these necessary components of wellness every session you are with us and give you home work as well!

Optimal balance and stability is coordinated by three systems. The vestibular system, located in the inner ear, which acts like a "carpenter's level". The proprioceptive system uses sensory nerves called proprioceptors that are located in the muscles, tendons, and joints of the body. They send messages through the central nervous system to your brain to give you an awareness of your body posture and spatial awareness. And finally, there is the visual system, which sends visual signals from the eyes to the brain about your body's position in relation to its surroundings. nergy Systems Development (ESD) is the result of combining the intricate science of the body’s cardiovascular system with specialized fitness training. ESD uses all three energy systems to maximize any workout for more efficient results in less time: creatine-phosphate, glycolysis, and Kreb’s cycle.

Each energy system requires different fuels thus your body changes energy systems depending on the intensity of work. Our training focuses on a progression that avoids injuries, overtraining, or overexertion. Forget plodding along with the vague goal of increasing the distance you can plod and trying in vain to reach that mysterious “fat burning zone”. Instead of training like a plow horse, start training like a thoroughbred. Start training like a BOSS!

You’ll improve your energy production and storage levels, gain strength, power and stamina, burn unwanted fat and tone up those problem areas, and improve your recovery rate.  ESD will have your muscles, nervous system, body fat elimination and hormones acting together into efficient movement patterns that help your body work as efficiently as possible.

Building Your Energy Systems

There are three different energy systems that are important for you to build:

  1. Lactate threshold - This is your capacity to do high-intensity work for up to 3 minutes. The ESD unit of your training program is a form of interval training in which you will alternate between periods of intense exercise with less strenuous periods.
  2. Lactate power - This is your body’s ability to do high-level work for periods of up to 12 seconds.
  3. Aerobic system - The ability to work beyond 3 minutes and help you recover from your bouts with the lactate threshold. For instance, if you’re sprinting up hills and walking down, you’re using the lactate system on the way up and the aerobic system on the way down. In this case, the aerobic system enhances your recovery from these intense bursts of energy.

At JUICEBOSS HQ, we know the body, how it works, and the best ways to make it work better. That is why we are the only facility in the region to incorporate all aspects of the patented Dynavec Training System.  This system was designed to strengthen problem areas of the body that are almost impossible to accomplish with conventional training methods and machines. Nothing quite works like the JUICEBOSS HQ training program because we have combined the ARX strength and Dynavec Training systems.

Dynavec Hip System (Glutenator)

PROBLEM: In today's fast-paced lifestyle, you may be so worried about what your brain can remember that you don't even think about the memory of your muscles. As strange as it may sound, your body really does have a memory all on its own, and it will remember and respond to your activities. This is great if you have a well-balanced exercise program, but it can spell disaster for a sedentary lifestyle. If you suffer from nagging knee, lower back, shoulder, or groin injuries, you could be suffering from a condition known as “gluteal amnesia”. This is a condition where your body cannot or actually forgets how to properly activate the important gluteal muscles, whether it's due to postural flaws or lack of use. As a result, you may lose the ability to move your hips through a full range of motion which adds stress to your knee, lower back, ankle and even your neck and shoulder joints! Common injuries associated with gluteal amnesia are patellofemoral pain syndrome, Iliotibial Band Syndrome, Disc Herniation, hip bursitis and hip flexor issues, and Piriformis Syndrome. Fortunately, you can reverse this condition with the right corrective exercises.

The gluteal muscles include the gluteus maximus, gluteus minimus, and the gluteus medius. These muscles control movement at the hip and knee. The gluteus maximus is involved in hip extension and external rotation, and decelerates hip flexion and internal rotation. Another important job that the gluteus maximus does is assist in maintaining an upright torso. However, when you sit for long periods of time, you are not using your gluteal muscles. Prolonged sitting adds to gluteal amnesia. Your hip flexors become tighter which leads to reciprocal inhibition of the gluteals. In order words, overactive hip flexors "turn off" the gluteus maximus. Other causes of gluteal amnesia are as follows: poor sitting or standing posture, weak core or abdominals, tightness in the hip flexor and lower back extensor muscles, joint fixations in the spine, pelvis and hips, chronic knee pain.

Ill effects of gluteal amnesia or weak gluteal muscles include sciatica, pelvic pain, lower back pain, hip pain, knee pain, ankle pain, foot pain, poor balance and coordination, weakness and more.  In addition, weak or non-active gluteals often result in various injuries and falls that complicate the condition even more.

SOLUTION: The Dynavec Hip System

There are various types of exercises that have been utilized for years in athletic and strength training to strengthen the gluteal muscles such as squats, lunges, hip thrusts, deadlifts, hip extensions, step-ups, split squats and more. The glaring issue is that all these exercises incorporate the activation of various other muscles groups throughout the exercise.  Thus in the case of gluteal amnesia or gluteal weakness, the other muscle groups over-ride the gluteals and can actually exacerbate the issues.

The Dynavec Hip System is the only system that completely isolates the gluteal muscles (maximus, medius and minimus) to ensure proper strengthening and stabilization of this important muscle group. By strengthening these muscles that are so often weak and inactive, stress is reduced on the rest of the body and allows stabilization and balance of the system.

DYNAVEC Ankle and Lower Leg System

It may be hard to believe, or even comprehend, but there are 26 bones, 33 joints, and over 200 ligaments, muscles and tendons that make up the ankle, foot and lower leg.  Don’t forget the nerve supply and blood vessels.  The ankle, foot and lower leg are a very complex and important system to the rest of the body.  If you think about it, it is the foundation that carries the rest of the body.  With that in mind, it is very important to maintain proper ankle, foot and lower leg function and stability.

Many people who suffer foot, ankle and lower leg injuries or conditions never recovery completely.  The reason for that are inadequate rehabilitation, strengthening and stabilization.  In addition, such conditions and injuries lead to various other issues due to the involvement of the proprioception component of the nervous system. Proprioceptors are small structures within the joints, muscles and tendons that provide information about position, coordination and agility to the brain. This feedback is crucial to things as simple as walking or moving around on uneven ground.  When an ankle, foot or lower leg is injured, weak or immobile due to sedentary lifestyle, proprioceptors malfunction. The end result is poor balance and posture and can lead to weakness and dysfunction in other areas of the body.

With all those components of the system, strengthening of the lower leg, ankle and foot and proprioceptor system has be difficult and limited.  Until now!

SOLUTION: Dynavec Ankle and Lower Leg System

The Dynavec Ankle and Lower Leg System provides strengthening and mobility exercise in all planes of ankle function engaging all involved muscles. Poor posture can indicate a weak, unconditioned core.  When you hear references to the core, you no doubt think of your abdominal muscles — i.e. the six-pack. While the abdominal muscles are a key component to the core and the most popular to talk about, many other muscles make up this vital group of muscles. The muscles of the lower back, the gluteal muscles and muscles that attach to the hips are all players in the strength of the core. Weakness or poor activation of any of these muscles can result in various signs and symptoms.

Poor posture is often an indication of a weak core. The muscles that make up your abdomen and lower back help to stabilize your pelvis and spine, keeping your upper back and shoulders in a neutral position. If these muscles lack strength or are imbalanced, especially when it comes to the erector spinae, a group of muscles that run along your spine, you’re far more apt to slouch. The gluteal muscles, upper and lower leg muscles also play a pivotal role in posture.  Weakness or imbalance with any of these can result in postural abnormalities and pain and musculoskeletal tightness in other areas of the body.

Lower back pain is another good indicator of weakness in your core muscles. When your core isn’t as strong or balanced as it should be, the curvature of your lumbar spine can change. Even the slightest difference can place undue pressure on the vertebrae, discs or articulate facets that make up your spine, as well as the muscles, tendons and ligaments that surround it, making you much more prone to injury.

Overall weakness or deconditioning is a sign that your core muscles are weak. This weakness, however, doesn’t need to manifest from the core itself. Instead, weakness in your arms and legs can indicate a poorly conditioned core.

Poor balance is an indication of a weak core.  Many think of balance as strictly an inner ear issue, but a weak core leads to a weak body and a weak body cannot maintain stability.  Add in uneven ground or the need for quick, skilled and controlled movement and balance can be lost.

SOLUTION: The Dynavec Torso System

Most core strengthening exercises can only work muscles in one plane of movement.  As with other exercises, should weakened muscles be over powered by stronger ones, the weaker muscle is not strengthened during the exercise.  The advantage of the Dynavec Torso System is that it provides strengthening in various planes of motion of the torso at the same time in an isolated method.  The result is that the core muscles are engaged properly and maximum strength gains are able to be made, even with the weakest of muscle groups.
